I’m Chet Baker,
I write because I love to write. And I write about the challenges out there in the job hunting game.
Careers are my business. My consulting practice – The Denver Career Group is my daily work. Why people work where they work and how they get that work has long been a topic that has intrigued me.
As a practicing executive recruiter and corporate recruiter for a combined total of some ten years, I met, recruited, hired, consoled and wrote resumes for candidates and hiring authorities first hand. I was emersed in the business deeply.
Now I’m at it in a broader sense and closer than ever to people and their needs. I write resumes, consult, give advice on where the jobs are and how to overcome the challenges people face in their career pursuits.
This blog is blather on the topics of careers, jobs, fear, success, attitude and self-examination and anything else that rolls between my ears on a particular day. I’m not a psychologists, I’m not a Phd of any sort. I’m an opinionated friend to a lot of people who have lost their direction in their careers. The words you find here you may enjoy at times. Then again you may not see the value of my wisdom, sometime direct, sometime empathetic.
I truly hope you enjoy reading these musings. Most of what you will consider here comes from bits and pieces from others who opine equally rhetorical on the same subjects. But of course it’s been said, quite truthfully, that there aren’t many new ideas. It’s how I package these ideas and the edge or spin that I roll them into is what I’m hoping makes sense and them worth reading.
The most enjoyment I can derive from these writings is to hear from you and get your comments.
My company is the Denver Career Group. Call me at 303-880-5909 to discuss anything or go to my website: www.denvercareergroup.com
Ciao,
Chet Baker
